Weekly Blogs - I love tinted moisturizers!

I've decided to start a weekly blog where I will try to write once a week on my blog about random things. It could be things in my life, it could be makeup, whatever. I'm not sure if it would be on a certain day of the week... but I'll only say something when I have something to say.

I can't wait for the To The Beach Collection Sneak Peek Unvailing Event tmr night at the MAC store near my house. It will be the first time I'm going to an unvailing party so it will be pretty exciting. I've also only ever bought one product from MAC which is their Studio Fix Powder Foundation. I have to say that it is goes on quite matte but it makes my face super oily throughout the day. Btw, I have oily skin. On top of that, I get allergic reaction to it. No good. I was matched for NC 25. I heard really good things about MAC's lipglosses, lipsticks, and eyeshadows so I will go check them out. I love the packaging for the new collection. Its soo summery and beachy. The collection comes out in Canada & U.S. on May 27, 2010. Be on the look out. Temptalia has all the swatches and photos and product description and what must have and not. Cool thing is that the girl from temptalia is also NC 25.

Currently, I am in love with tinted moisturizers. It is supposed to be a light weight alternative to a cakey makeup for the summer.  I kinda have an issue with that which I will try to explain to ya'll. The Physician's Formula one, Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer, is great and all cuz its blendable and natural, but its too sheer. I would have to conceal first and have to powder over. In the summer when its hot the powder wears off and yeah its just not great. I would still recommend it if you want something sheer.

Now I'm back to Marcelle Sheer Tint Fluid Moisturizer. I have done a face routine vid last summer using it and ended up hating the product cuz it got me greasy. 1) I think I apply too much 2) I didn't apply primer first 3) I apply it wrong. I got back to it starting today using my duo fibre brush and its ok. I find the consistency really thick so it doesn't hype up to the light weight summer alternative thing. And it takes just as long to apply as my regular liquid foundation. Tinted moisturizers are suppose to be quick and easy. My color mocha beige (self matched) is too dark and my mom's color creme beige is too light. I will try to mix both and do something to it so that I will like it. It I do end up liking it I will do a vid about it. The reason I went back to it is b/c it has spf and my other one didn't.

Honestly, I'd still prefer to stick with my liquid foundation L'oreal True Match Super-Blendable Makeup contrary to what people say. People don't like using heavy foundation in the summer but that one I love cuz its very easy to blend, light weight, and yet it gives the right amount of coverage. It feels like I'm wearing nothing. Ya'll should seriously check it out if you have not done so.

Anywhoo.... I shall head to bed now. I got a long day tomorrow.

Covergirl Eyeshadow Trio in Shimmering Sands 110

Price: $8.99 CND
Net Wt: 4.8g, 0.17oz

Colors: (from left to right) light brown, taupe, pinky pearl (MAC Naked Lunch dupe)

How to use: 1) light brown on crease/ hollows of eyes, taupe on lid, pinky pearl for highlight 2) light brown in crease, pinky pearl close to lash line up to crease, pinky pearl for highlight

My opinion: This trio is good for everyday neutral look. It is not too matte or too shimmery. Color payoff is great if used with a base. Makes for very easy makeup when in a rush.

Rate: 4.5/5

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight 700

Price: $6.99 CND
Net Wt: 0.14 oz, 4g

Packaging: It has a very sleek and chic packaging in metallic purple. I don't really like purple but I still find the packaging really nice. I also like the crown engraved to the cap of the lipstick.

Color: It is a nude shade with a peachy tone so it does not wash your lips out. It is the perfect nude color. You almost don't even need a lipgloss over it.

My Opinion: It is very moisturizing on the lips. It goes on like lip balm and feels like lip balm as well. It does not dry out my lips. This is my go to wearable lipstick.

Rating: 5/5

Can only afford Walmart... HAUL!!!

If you followed me on twitter you'd know I tweeted some time yesterday that I am so broke I can only afford Walmart. GUESS WHAT? I finally went to Walmart today. I love it. They have stuff that are soo affordable and cheap. I really needed to get a new pair of pj bottom cuz I had mine for a while and they were starting to have holes in them and fall apart. It's been like that for a month now... quite embarrassing but I didn't care. I got a pair today that came with a t-shirt. Sorry I got no picture for it but its light pink with brown and pink hearts/ circles with swirls in the hearts/ circles. Very CUTE!!! Only 8 bucks.  I also got 2 other things.

TRESemme Fresh Start Waterless Foam Shampoo (Dry/ Curly to Normal Hair) - $4.00
I tried once and didn't like it cuz made my hair more oily.

L'oreal True Match Super-blendable Makeup (W5) - $11.98
My fave liquid foundation and 4 bucks cheaper than my regular drugstore. This is just a backup one.
Wanna see a review of it? Click HERE!!!

Hope ya'll enjoy this mini haul. Have an awesome night!!

Busy Me = Tiredness

As you can tell from the picture of the lady with many arms..... I am super busy lately. I don't know if many of ya'll follow my blog but some times its just not possible to make a vid on youtube.

UPDATES
If you have been following me on youtube & twitter since the day I put myself out there on the internet for ya'll.....you know that I have not have a job for a while. For the past couple weeks I have been putting in some hours BABYSITTING. I've done it twice in my whole entire life prior to this. You might think this is crazy for a girl but I have seriously not babysitted when I was in highschool. Ok so the family I baby sat for twice had 3 children (3, 6, 8 years old). They had each other as company so it was ok. So this time around.... my first day of babysitting was with a 3 year old ALONE. It's hard playing constantly with the child and having to keep him entertained. I survived. Now I've upgraded to picking him up at his preschool (including strapping him in the car seat). Wish me luck.

Ok... so the whole jobless issue. I went and took a career planning course last summer. Long story short, one of the facilitators has her own company (that just started about a year ago) and has gotten me on board working for her. Once her website launches...everything will run full force!! Nothing is finalized yet. I am just starting off with a self-discovery type workshop/ training with her. I am quite excited about where it will lead me.

YOUTUBE? MAKEUP? I have not forgot about all of that kinda stuff. I still love it and will make ya'll tons more vids. The only thing is... I have a life outside of beauty videos. Bellow is a list of upcoming youtube vids. They are not in any particular order.

- a new makeup storage/ collection (requested)
- updated foundation routine
- updated lipgloss/ lipstick collection
- lots and lots of reviews of my fave products (one vid per product)

CURRENT MOST FAVE PRODUCT
I am recently in love with Covergirl Eye Enhancers Trio in Shimmering Sands.  I love love love it soooo much all b/c of Allthatglitters21 (link in sidebar for her youtube channel...btw her name is Elle). She made a video in the summer using this trio. Please be on the look out for a tutorial/ review of this product.

POSSIBLE PROJECT 10 PAN?
If you are wondering what it is I looked it up in Yahoo Answers for ya'll.
"Using up 10 things of what you already before you buy anything else. For all beauty products."

It is created by lollipop26. A make up guru on Youtube. Check her out and she will tell you what its all about + her updates on it! Shes awesome! Hope this helps! :) "

Here is a blog post of her explaining the whole deal in detail.

I am planning of doing something like this soon since I don't have money to buy makeup. I think I've tried to do it once before but I failed. I will try to select products I use more often. There will be an exception to the rule. Stuff I use A LOT (foundation, mascara, powder) I will repurchase the same exact product once it is used up... not after all 10 products are used up. You know.. those are my necessities and you can't deprive a girl of her necessities can you?

We'll its getting late girls. Time for me to get some beauty sleep. No pun intended. See ya'll on youtube soon.

Review: Physicians Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer

So recently I have found that my skin has been really good to me due to good skincare routine. Click on YIPPEE to watch my updated skincare vid for oily skin. I wanted something that is not heavy coverage for days that I'm not doing too much (going to the grocery store, etc). I have tried Physicians Formula products in both the Organic Wear line and the Mineral Wear line and I am so happy with it. With that said, I was not hesitant to get the Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer even tho at the store I bought it at did not have a tester so I couldn't test the color or consistency of the product.

$17.49 CAD (I bought it on sale for $15 ish)
1.5 Fl. Oz. / 44mL

Shades? It comes in 4 shades:
Ivory to Fair
Fair to Light
Light to Natural (my shade)
Natural to Tan

Coverage? It is very sheer application. It will not cover any blemishes or imperfections on your face. So it is good for younger skin, those who are just running errands, and those who are sporty and want a fast makeup alternative. Obviously, even if you are not those people you can still use it.

Application? I would apply it with my hands as it is really runny. Runny is good b/c it makes it easy to blend and it evens out ur skin tone.

Benefits? It is a 2-in-1 product so you don't need to buy a moisturizer and something else to give your face some color. It is quite moisturizing so if you have oily skin DO NOT use a regular moisturizer as a base. Also MAKE SURE you use a mattifying foundation primer over it. It is an organic product so it has a lot of good ingredients for your face. There are no harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens (which can cause breast cancer), GMO's, synthetic colors, and synthetic fragrances. Cruelty free too!!!!!

Scent? It smells like essential oils. If you are purchasing an organic product you should know that the scent will be some what "organic". I saw a lot of reviews on this product where people were bashing the scent. I honestly wanna throw up when I hear that b/c this scent is very bareable and nice smelling. I guess everyone is used to fake chemicaly-made scents. SIGHH!!!

Packaging? It is a cute tube with pictures of leaves on it. The packaging is 100% recycable.

Where to buy? Anywhere that sells Physicians Formula products so mostly drugstore and stores like Target, Wallmart, Zellers, etc.

Rate? 4.5/ 5

Watch out: It is organic so it is pricier than a drugstore moisturizer but soooo worth your money.

Non-alcoholic Beer

So you are probably wondering why there is a beer pic on my beauty blog? I have something to share with ya'll and want ya'll opinion on it. So I came across non-alcoholic beer during a dinner at a family friends place. Recently I was at a party and some people were drinking it too.

What it is ... basically it is beer that is without alcohol. People who drink it are those that cannot have alcohol whether they are pregnant, under age, in school, going to be driving, and so on.

BUT my QUESTION is: Does beer taste so good that when you can't have alcohol you'd get "fake" beer just for the taste? Honestly, I don't like how beer tastes so I wouldn't drink it regardless. Please leave a comment to the post even if you have no tried the "fake" beer.

Get rid of large pores for oily skin

First post of 2010... YAY!!!!

Here are some tips I learned on youtube for getting rid of (kinda) large pores for oily skin.  If you have large pores you know what I mean. They are on the cheek area near your nose and they are ANNOYING.

First...
Wet your face with warm water to open up the pores (contrary to what we are trying to do here).

Second...
Apply a dime sized amount of cream/ gel cleanser that has retinol in it. Work it into your face for about 1 min.

Third...
Wash your face

Fourth...
Put a hot towel (wring it out) on your face till it is no longer hot. It opens the pores so we can get the dirty stuff out. Clogged pores are usually why its large.

Fifth...
Slather on a thick coat of clay mask. I use the Freeman one and its great. I have a review of it on youtube. Plus only less than 5 bucks.

Sixth...
Wait for mask to dry and remove mask. Then wet face with cold water to close pores as well to remove left over mask.

Seventh...
Use a moisturizer that matte's out the face and contains salicylic acid.

Now you are done.

BUT......

Before you put on makeup... apply some matte foundation primer. ClearFX one is good b/c it has salicylic acid to treat acne as well as other properties to matte face.

Enjoy.
